December 30, 1903
This was the deadliest theater fire and the deadliest single-building fire in United States history - over 600 people were killed. Company No. 1 of The Wizard of Oz tour had to juggle dates as they could not go into Chicago in January as originally planned. See below after January 16, 1904.
December 31 - Oskaloosa, IA

It seems that some re-scheduling was done at this point. Printed sources are confusing. Edna Leach’s diary has Chicago crossed out and dates written out of order in the top margin. This seems to have been due to the Iroquois Theatre fire.
